What makes Potion Craft: Alchemist Simulator stand out?.

I wrote about this game’s demo positively two years ago already, so as you can see my opinion had already been positive back then. There were no strings attached and thus, I can share with you my honest opinion.

This post counts as advertisement, because I got this game for free to review. But do take a look at the potion map and decide if that’s what you want to play with before buying the game. My verdict: Easy to understand, relaxing gameplay. However, I got the game for free, so my evaluation here is definitely biased! The regular price is 12,49 € on Steam which seems fair to me. Still, it’s good entertainment and a perfect little game to relax in the evening. As I said, I’m actually not too good at it – and admittedly too impatient sometimes to go through all the ingredients and see in which directions they will move my bottle. So if that’s not your thing, I’d say it’s not your game. Figuring out the various potion recipes is fun enough and the core of the game. It’s a game that’s easy to understand and get into. I would assume that you can make the stronger potions with that one, but I don’t know… With enough money, you can buy a new one. And in your basement, there is an alchemist machine that’s broken. There are also weak up till super strong potions. However, you can also have different recipes for the same kind of potion which helps in case you don’t have a certain ingredient in stock. I have only used it once but that one only brought me to a potion recipe I already knew anyway. It then gets teleported to another place on the map. Once there, you can use the bellows which brings your bottle to the center of the swirl. I also didn’t know until recently that you can land on a swirl. I admit, I’m actually rather bad in getting my bottle to move across the map. Once it’s empty, the bottle breaks and you need to start from the beginning. Landing with your potion on these depletes it. If you move over those, you get some extra experience points. Once you’re on top of a potion, you heat up the pot. By grinding different plants and stirring the pot, you move across the map. Potion Craft: Potion Mapīut you also need to find the recipes for the various potions. It costs you reputation to do so with customers, though.

There is a haggling mini-game that you can use with customers (or vendors selling you alchemical ingredients). I am not going to put spoilers here in case you want to guess for yourself. When a customer comes in, they tell you what they want, but not always as clearly as you may like. Your job is to create potions and to sell them for a profit. You own a little shop with a garden plot where you can harvest a few plants every day. Potion Craft: Alchemist Simulator is exactly what the title suggests.
